The global food and fuels supply chain disruption as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is expected to aggrevate the situation, with food inflation at 17.2 percent year-on-year in Africa. Before the war, African countries imported 44% of their wheat from Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine alone grew enough food for 400 million people.
